Waukesha County Department of Health and Human Services (“HHS”) utilizes hosted software from Better Impact USA Inc. (“Better Impact”) to store and manage volunteer/student information. The Better Impact software as a service (SaaS) assists HHS organize, train, manage, deploy and track its volunteers/students.

Personal information that may be collected includes your name, address, phone number, email address, volunteering interests, assigned jobs, volunteer hours, completed trainings, background check date and notes, auto insurance verification dates, driver’s license expiration dates, emergency contact name and phone number, your gender, race, and ethnicity, communications to volunteers/students, and other volunteer/student related information (collectively, “Volunteer/Student Data”).

Volunteer/Student Data may be entered into Better Impact directly by you through MyImpactPage.com and/or the mobile app My Impact, manually by HHS, or be generated by the Better Impact software application. Volunteer/Student Data will be stored in Canada and used and protected in accordance with Better Impact’s privacy policy and the Better Impact Technology and Privacy Brief.

Better Impact and its related and affiliated entities may create Analyses utilizing Volunteer/Student Data and information derived from HHS’s use of Better Impact. Analyses will anonymize and aggregate information. Personal information within the Volunteer/Student Data will be used by Better Impact only to provide and support the SaaS and related consulting services. Analyses may be used by Better Impact for the following purposes:

• Product improvement
• Improving resource allocation and support
• Internal demand planning
• Training and developing machine learning algorithms
• Improving product performance
• Verification of security and data integrity; and
• Identification of industry trends, development indices and anonymous benchmarking

By signing this document, you consent to the collection, storage and use of your Volunteer/Student Data as set forth above. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time by contacting HHS at HHSVolunteers@waukeshacounty.gov. Upon withdrawal of your consent, your Volunteer/Student Data will be deleted from Better Impact, unless necessary or required to be retained, and you will no longer be eligible to volunteer for HHS.
